EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

SENIOR EDUCATOR, THE WEDGE PROGRAM, SAN FRANCISCO DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH. 1540 Market Street, Suite 260, San Francisco, CA 94102. Wrote proposals, develop curricula, co-trained volunteer speakers and educators, designed and conducted program evaluations; coordinated special projects; created and managed the program's website. Collaborated with Community-Based Agencies to coordinate activities for Free Zone, a ground-breaking arts and media program for sexual minority youth. Conducted HIV prevention education sessions for a diverse range of youth and parents in schools, community settings, churches, and drop-in centers. (October 1996 - October 2000)

HEALTH EDUCATOR, FAMILY HEALTH BUREAU, SAN FRANCISCO DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH. 101 Grove Street, Room 115, San Francisco, CA 94102: Assessed training needs for DPH staff involved in Family Health Bureau programs. Designed, implemented and coordinated staff trainings on a range of topics, including counseling skills, tobacco cessation, human sexuality, medical updates and cultural competency. Developed training and client education materials. Worked with other staff on revision of protocols, quality assurance, community organizing and outreach, proposal writing and program planning. (July 1992 - October 1996)

REGIONAL TRAINING CENTER COORDINATOR, AIDS EDUCATION FOR YOUTH PROJECT, FAMILY HEALTH BUREAU, DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH. 1512 Golden Gate Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94115: Worked with representatives of the CDC and local educational agencies to develop the state/city teams which attended the center's six day-long training and strategic planning program. Assessed team training needs and designed and implemented formative evaluation tools for the trainings. Developed and implemented training designs for the Center's general training, and its training-of-trainers. Wrote training manuals for same. (February 1989 - June 1992)

HEALTH EDUCATOR, PLANNED PARENTHOOD ALAMEDA/SAN FRANCISCO, 815 Eddy Street, San Francisco, CA 94109: Developed curricula for and delivered educational presentations and series on reproductive health issues, HIV/STDs, human sexuality, and parent/child communication. Planned and implemented trainings for a range of organizations including community-based agencies serving youth in high-risk situations and the California Office of Family Planning. Responsible for evaluating all educational series and trainings. Represented Planned Parenthood on coalitions. Coordinated Speaker's Bureau and other special programs in the San Francisco area.
