APPROACH

Every site presents challenges. I'll work with you to turn these challenges into advantages, finding innovative solutions to potentially difficult design problems. In addition, I will maintain close contact with you throughout the planning and production process, building in regular approval points for each step to ensure that you get the site you envisioned and more.

STAGES

PLANNING: Planning starts with one or two face-to-face meetings to discuss important details about the project, including goals, content, structure, aesthetics, maintenance and budget.

At this point, you'll receive a "storyboard" or chart representing the site's proposed navigational flow, and mockups for the site's graphic interface. These will demonstrate ways that images, text and navigational elements might be used to provide the site with a unified look and feel.

PRODUCTION: Once you've given your approval to all site designs, production moves forward with content development and programming/scripting the site's interactive elements (i.e., email forms, discussion boards). Again, approval points will be built into this process to ensure that you get the site you want.

TESTING: We will test the site thoroughly on our server, looking at it on a variety of systems, browsers and monitors to ensure that it is accessible to as wide an audience as possible.

POST-PRODUCTION: After fine-tuning, we'll launch the site on your web host.

1. HOW WILL MY SITE UTILIZE EXISTING PRINT MATERIALS? We'll work together to ensure oconsistency between the site and your other promotional and/or informational materials. While both graphics and text will need to be adapted for the web, having existing materials will speed up the process.

2. HOW LONG DOES THE PROCESS TAKE? The planning and production stages can anywhere from several days to several months depending upon a site's size and complexity. The time frame is in part dependent upon how much material (both content and graphics) already exist, and how much must be generated for the project.

3. WILL YOU HELP ME FIND A WEB HOST? I am happy to identify a web host which will meet your needs and budget requirements.

4. WILL YOU PUBLICIZE MY SITE? I can register the site for you with search engines and provide other forms of online publicity, or I can train you/your staff to take over this duty. Of course, one of the best ways to publicize your site is to include your web address on materials such as business cards, newsletters, etc.

5. WHAT ABOUT SITE MAINTENANCE? Again, we can negotiate a maintenance fee into the initial contract, or I can train you/staff to provide this service in-house.
